Proposed closure of St Andrews abattoir
« on: July 19, 2012, 03:13:11 pm »
Please please get your writing pads and quills out and write to your MSP, to Richard Lochhead, Fife Council
opposing the closure of St Andrew's Abattoir with NO ALTERNATIVE PROVISION being made.

The proposal undermines everything good about local food and high animal welfare. I can accept that the abattoir isn't in a great spot, and if I lived there, I'd probably rather have M&S as a neighbour but it's the fact that it may close before we have the chance to put in place a local alternative.

If you don't have a quill, use email.

Thanks.

We used to live just around the corner from St Andrews abattoir and we rarely heard a sound from it, and there was no smell, or anything offensive at all.  That was a while ago now so all might have changed.
It will certainly be bad if it closes, the same for most other abattoirs in Britain  >:(
