Today I had a day in Lerwick, shopping and scranning for goodies in the charity shops. Someone must have had a clearout as the shop was full of still packaged vintage craft items. I got two tatting shuttles, a load of button ' forms' that you use to crochet buttons on and crochet hooks, all  for £1.00 . I also got a full pure wool rug making kit for a couple of quid. !

Ive been asleep most of the day! For the last week or so, Ive been feeling really rough and all I want to do is sleep. I have to force myself to do things, and then as soon as I sit down, Im in the land of nod. I hate feeling like this with so much to do and OH needing all the help he can get. I have a few symptoms that could be linked to diabetes, so Im going to get hubby to do a blood test on me tomorrow as we have all the kit. If nothing else it will put my mind at rest and Ill be able to cross one thing off the list.

I have been digging up a bucket full of pink fir apple potatoes (in the rain) and just finished the first plateful for this year and they are yummy.

I've spent all day looking outside thinking it must stop raining soon. The rain stopped finally about 8.30pm but I've done lots of baking and cleaned the kitchen. Ponies didn't come out of their stables until lunchtime, goats refused to come out all day, sheep looked reallly fed up and the labradors kept their legs crossed as long as they could.

When will summer be here?

Outside!  ;D

It only managed a few spells of drizzle here so the lawn has been mowed, the path rescued from the lawn and weeds and the dock all cut back before it seeds. Even got two lots of washing out and harvested a small batch of tatties! If it's as good tomorrow I get to lift slabs ready for my new veg bed!

Not that this is what I did ALL day, but sat in the orchard with one of my old cats watching the lambs graze and play in the sunshine.  Its so worthwhile to indulge in a quiet watching session - you can learn so much about who your animals are.  :)

Sewing a brilliantly colourful 1950's style dress from a pattern. I haven't sewn anything totally on my own before, but it seems to be going OK! I'll stick up a photo when I've finished doing hems and things.
planning to have: beef cattle, a house cow (or two), maybe some goats, definitely some hens and ducks, a lovely farm with rolling hills and a stream running through the back paddock, and a cottage covered with climbing roses and an old wood-fired stove.

Oh well done you AIW   I love sewing but at the moment it is boring stuff like curtains.  Your dress sounds lovely.
