I just witnessed Sparrow, my black andalusian pullet, lay her first ever egg. What are the chances of that?! That I would actually be there and see it plop out rather unceremoniously onto the floor with a bump

She is the first chicken I have raised from an egg to laying herself, so it was a rather special moment I witnessed. The egg is very small and pure white. Beautiful. She was not best pleased about the whole affair. Lots of squawking and pacing, I imagine it must have been a bit painful! She is 21 weeks and 3 days old, so starting her egg laying career quite young.
I shall have to make something special with it when I eat it, seems a shame to destroy it!
