One of Those days
« on: June 23, 2012, 11:16:00 am »
Yesterday I took myself food shopping in the morning, tidy the house then sat answering e-mails for a bit. By afternoon I thought better get on and muck out, ponies have the front of the barn over the summer as no straw stacked up. I have rubber mats down so they do not need a lot of bedding. After mucking out I took Pitstop in put on the water to fill his bucket and yes, I forgot about it. Went down the filed to pick up the droppings along with Rascal and Jake who would also like to pick up droppings if they got away with it. First thing was the tup lamb decided to walk through the fence and head but my barrow. cleaned up again. Then Jake thought he would try and put the lamb back in his paddock, head but going in his direction so shouted just in time to save him. Then the cat came to join in along with all my chickens. So I think it was safe to say I was a bit distracted. By the time I got back up to the barn there was water everywhere. After sweeping out as much as I could I then had to lift all the mats which are heavy things to get underneath. all this took me a couple of hours. while busy Rascal decided to go walk about down the field. Just when i thought things could not get any worse up he comes covered in sheep muck. The stink was terrible and he was so pleased with himself. next step dog bath. OH came home, no tea ready and me stinking to high heaven. He cooked , I showered then had one very large glass of wine.
