Hello.  Our local livestock feed supply firm is switching from Farmgate products to Harbro.  Does anyone have any experience of Harbro Pig Feed (pigs are saddlebacks circa 3 months in age now and will be taken to slaughter at about 6.5 months old) and what sort of discount I could expect for buying a tonne's worth (so around 50 bags).

I've used Harbro feeds - they're good, but expensive compared to some others. I bought by the tonne direct from Harbro, so couldn't really tell you about discounts - it was around £380 a tonne from memory.
Remember though, if you're buying a tonne, that it'll only store for around 3 months. It's only a saving if you'll use it all

Not used the pig but used their premium ewe nuts and pedigree ewe nuts and both are eaten well by our stock.  I phoned Harbro a couple of times about various things - they said it wouldn't be cheaper getting it from them direct so just go to your local supplier.  They are a little more expensive but even the look of the feed seemed better quality and is definitely more palatable to our sheep.


But as HH says, it is food and there is a 3 months time limit on it - you may need to split it with some piggy friends.
