Hi everyone. I'm very new to this and have only a tiny bit of land but I keep hens and am looking to run a couple of sheep on my small but perfectly formed acre each year in sunny Linlithgow. It would be great to hear from other small small holders in Scotland. Advice, hints and tips I'll take from anywhere! I confess I'm struggling to pick up a few lambs - I think I'm a bit late this year! Joanne

hello from just up the road in avonbridge      it depends on what type of sheep and what you want them for there is always sheep for sale it just may the wrong type or logistically not practical

Hi guys.    Great to hear from you. I got some super advice from Rosemary who suggested two wether lambs to keep till winter / next summer depending on breed, then put them in the freezer. So I'm keeping my eyes peeled. This would help me get used to keeping sheep, as they would be my first. I am a complete novice but do have a holding number. I'm reading Tim Tyne's book and hoping to couple this with learning on the job!


Great weather now, am off to muck out the hens.

Hello Joanne    from Durham. I don't have any land but rent 2 allotments with hens,veg and fruit. Having an acre will give quite a bit of scope to try new thing. Look forward to your input on the forum
