Runner Ducks
« on: May 14, 2012, 11:01:33 am »
Morning everyone,

I'm looking to get some runner ducks in the next few days - would it be possible to just get 4 females (I just want eggs and am not looking to breed them), or would a breeder insist on selling a male with them?

What would be a reasonable male:female ratio?

Cheers!

You probably want 4 ducks to a drake. And there's no harm in having a drake, the ducks seem to like one around, they're not as 'bolshy' as some drakes either. I have four drakes with 10 runner ducks and they live happily together.
