I am going to get locked up one day....

Even to my ears the statement, "Dont throw the poo away that is in the bucket next to the fence...I am collecting it" sounded very bizarre...Just glad we live in a remote area  ;)

OH voices both the dogs and engages in quite complicated conversations with them, playing both parts.  My morning round involves asking all the animals how they are.  And they tell me.

My GP who lives next door has noticed me giving the sheep back massages, but she's on the list for joints when they go down the road so will keep quiet about it.

Does anyone else sing 'hey chickies you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind, HEY CHICKIES!' to the tune of hey mickey to their chickens in the mornings?? :-[ :-[ I do.

I'm not even going to admit what I sing to the other animals :-[ :-[ :-[

Turn the rust of hate back into passion.
It's not water into wine
But it's here, and it's happening.
Massive,
but passive.

Always talk to the pigs. Especially our boar who doesn't see you coming cos his ears are over his eyes so it pays to let him know you're there.

In my view, people that don't talk to, and more importantly, listen to, their animals are the ones that want locking up. :D

My little Jersey is the self-elected spokescow for our herd - she may as well speak fluent English, she can pretty much make herself understood whatever is wanted.
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

i DON'T TALK TO THE HORSES , I talk at them, " you 'orrible bastards, what did you eat the door for ? " etc
the goats get asked very similar questions concerning my apple trees and flowers.
the chooks swear back at me
the sheep call the shrink on my behalf.

I talk to all my animals, especially "the boys" and Jethro the cockeral. As the boys roam free all day every day now, sometimes I cant see them when I look out the window, so I just call out "boys..where are you" and they come running straight up to me from wherever they were hiding. As soon as Jethro hears me talking to the boys he gets jealous, so he jumps up on to the roof of the henhouse and starts cockling at the top of his voice. Its the same if Im just out getting wood etc and chatting to the boys. As soon as he hears my voice, he starts again.
I also get a little kiss from the boys at night when they have their "treats" just before I lock the top stable door. They jump up for their petit beurre biscuits, give me a kissy each, and get their treat. Then its "night night, sleep tight, mummy loves you very much".
Oh got to go now, the men in white coats have just knocked at the door!!

There are days when my animals are all I have to talk to. It gets a bit worrying when the conversation goes like this, " Come on now dogs, a prize for the person who finds the car keys" and even "Answer that for me" when the 'phone rings.
I talk about the weather and the price of eggs to the hens, the state of the grass to the sheep and the prices in the market to the pigs. They answer too, in their own way ::) Tell me, if you KNOW you are mad, are you mad :-\ :-*

no, not mad ... its all perfectly okay (in my head!)

Oh, and Sylvia? Mrs Light Sussex says the price of eggs is outrageous, and the proletariate workers get none of the credit, wages, or benefits due to them.  Who knew - A Marxist hen!!
