please see attached my photos of 2 kune kune pigs (i dont think so) that i collected from a pub beer garden discribed as KKs they are supposed to be 12 months old they look about 45klos so a small breed, all black, a leg on each corner, WHAT ARE THEY.

Harry - they could be anything, cross bred parents perhaps, possibly sold as 'micros' who knows 

It does look like there's a bit of Kunekune in them, but looking at the overall body shape there's probably a bit of pot bellied pig in there too.
What are their legs like ? Nice and straight or a bit crooked ?

I WILL LOOK TOMMOROW... what i can tell you is they pad the ground with their front feet like a cat on your lap,  and sort of do a weird grunt... my kks dont do that

long noses, maybe some tamworth in there?

colouring  - are they brown / dark ginger?
Has the one in the bottom picture got a piri piri tassel under its chin?
Prob kune crosses....

They might just have an accent Harry! Seriously, we have three kunes and they (and the ones that have moved on) all sound different to each other

I've seen "micro pigs" for sale that look very much like these.

tamworth/wild boar/large black etc, the list could be endless, but me personally I would just settle for dark of allsorts.

i thot they looked a bit tammie, but at 45kg at 12 months? i dont what cross would reduce their size so much

the second photo does look like it has got a piri so there is some kk in the breed or it is a large lump. They certainly don't seem to be 12 months old.

maybe they are (not so) large blacks.Ha ha some sort of cross methinks

yes ones got piris under his chin... colour all black, straight front legs.... i suppose at this age they are full size now

Look like micro pigs to me, at 12 months old they still have a lot of growing to do!

genetics is a funny thing    a kunnie with pirie piries will pass that trait on to future generations
feeding  is also quite interesting if they have a starvation diet they will remain small for longer then once fed properly they grow as normal   but with kunnies there are two distinct breeding lines   small and round and even smaller and rounder
pig breeding should be like the dog world with endorsements on the future breeding this is one reason we castrate the males  you want a boar you will pay boar prices or you are going to have  a hard forking time trying to  reversing the process
seen one yesterday a small black with indeterminate piglets and three or four different breeds fighting for dominance in the genes

not bothered what they are now they are friendly good size and free... but this is my first year with pigs and getting to know the pigs dont know the rules......... ie when i first asked about pigs on here i said i had loads of docks nettles and grass,, told to get  kunes as they graze,,,,,, well mine didnt they turned the whole half acre they where on over in a few weeks... not much in the way of grazing which is ok as i wanted it cleared and theyve done the same to every area i have moved them onto........... these last 2 which have kune in them are grazing like sheep ??
