I'm in East Devon- have looked on DEFRA which says Local Authority, but who?

Thanks for any help!

Usually Trading Standards. It is in Cumbria and looks like it is in Devon too.

Thank you so much!!!!!

Could do with another sheepie now. Have 2x whether cross breeds as lawn mowers. Just weaned them. Would love a lady to breed from at some point, or a couple of lambs for the pot in the autumn, or both!. Am too much of a wuss to go to an auction...

Anyone have any Shetlands for sale in a few weeks? I love them, and my friend keeps them and has a nice ram..

Have a look on here Shetland Sheep Society

What I did was contact someone in the society near me. I bought some sheep from them, and because I wanted some more, they met up with me at an auction and walked me round the pens, showed me what was good and what wasn't. A great learning experience and I bought some good sheep (which I'm just lambing now for the first time - Shetlands that is, used to keep Rough Fells)

the only dumb question is the one you don't ask!

Pop down to the livestock market at Exeter - Devon trading standards have a small office there open on sale days  where you can pick up leaflets/forms and ask advice, and have a mooch round the pens.  The details are probably in the Western Gazette each week.  Do you want registered Shetlands or are you content with unregistered?

Thanks guys!!

Not fussed on registered etc for a couple for the pot, some family really want a whole/half lamb in the autumn so need something soon!

But I'd love a registered lady to breed from sometime in the future.

Thanks Woolyval- when I have some pennies ready in the next couple of weeks, will ask for help!

I'll see if any of my rare days off coincide with a sale at Exeter, and go and have a look around.

Thanks again!!!
