Concentrate after kidding
« on: March 25, 2012, 10:48:49 am »
I gave 800g / 1kg per day to goats in the last weeks before kidding on vet's advice.  Now they have all kidded and most are 2 weeks done - what do I do with the concentrate quantities?  They are still in the barn - going out to grass and brambles mid-week.  They have loads of hay.

The kids are beginning to nibble some concentrate too (risking a kick or two in the middle of the big girls!) so I need to take that into consideration also I have put the 4 yearlings in too - so need to average it all out

I let mine eat what they want, but I imagine that they need similar amounts if not more, now they're feeding kids. Speaking of kids, can they have somewhere to eat where the big ones can't get?

If I let them eat what they wanted...bag each!

Kids seem to get some, will try and set up a creep feeder
