Oxfordshire smallholders?
« on: March 23, 2012, 08:53:35 am »
in introductions recently someone was asking about the Gloucester smallholders association. so i was wondering if there is an Oxfordshire one?? my father had a smallholding when i was growing up so i already knew a far bit of what to do and this has been a very solo project so far. but some like minded individuals would be a good thing now. any help greatly received.

thanx my loves! i feel better about it all since finding you all here. can start to feel very isolating sometimes, like when things go wrong etc! i am a member of a 4x4 forum but they all want to go and trash their trucks!

love being alone, just get a bit sick of my own voice sometimes! seems strange that there are no smallholders this way don't you think? or is it a very regional thing to do?

i was the Chairman once upon a time, that is enough for me. i wanted to gleen information from others lol, not be the font again. i think as said earlier i will stay in isolation for a little longer and just do what i have been doing and learn stuff for myself.  ;)

Hi Chairman Pill, I am on the border of south oxfordshire (Caversham) which used to be in oxfordshire once upon a time.

Although I am not a proper small holder (in my eyes) I do try to grow lots of veggies in the garden, when I have the space I would love to get some chickens.

I am sure there must be an association of sorts but maybe they don't cover the whole county, I have tried to look for associations in Berkshire but to no avail.
Maybe if you contacted the local allotment association to see if any of their member know of anything, it might be a good place to start?..

hey Cavendish, i was just wondering if there was a valuable club and all the knowledge that comes with it. but it would seem you and i are in the minority round this neck of the woods eh?
