Hi Everyone,

I'm so sorry to hijack your welcome thread, and to be rude enough to have not begun my own introduction thread either, but I have a bit of a crisis I hope one or two of you who keep quail might be able to help with.

I'm posting here purely because of the locality of some of you. I live near Llanfyllin near Welshpool, and recently rescued four quail one of which the other three seem to have taken a dislike to. The housing that came with them was innapropriate for them, and she has hurt her head trying to escape. We've since built them something more appropriate, but the damage is done and she's being picked on quite badly by the others. She's white, and I have no idea if that has anything to do with it as we're new to keeping quail!

We've seperated her from the others, but know that this is not good for her either as quail live in groups. Would any of you who keep quail be interested in a rescue? I can bring her to you today if need be, you won't have to do a thing.

Please email (I check regularly) if you can help, or if you know someone who can help us.

I'm going to check on the poor thing now, though she should be a little calmer, but will check messages regularly all day.

Thanks so much and again, I'm really sorry for hijacking the thread. (Looking forward to reading the site when I can relax a little more, it looks great!)

Best regards to you all,

Diane

Hello!

have had such a busy few days, I didn't get chance to read on here, and missed these posts.

Thanks for the welcomes all :)

Diane, I hope you are all sorted now, quail is one area I haven't (yet ;) ) dabbled.

Looks like there's quite a few from this area, do you ever meet up?

I am setting up a meeting for people in Shropshire-ish.  Looks like it will probably be 31st for a pub lunch if you can make it, in Jackfield, Telford.

Yes. I don't go to every single event - just the ones that are relevant to what we are doing but the ones I have been to have been very good and have resulted in lasting changes to our practice at home.  The food afterwards is delicious.
