After the most stressful move imaginable we are now officially in our new home. We had to transfer all the heavy stuff via lorry -> land rover/trailer -> over extensive fields -> back of house so it took a while, especially as the day i had booked the lorry for, the trailer we were due to borrow had suddenly got a flat tyre! Then the neighbours at our old place started kicking off because we put our rubbish in their wheelie bins (lined up on the pavement) a few hours before they were due to be emptied, one of our neighbours deciding to take glass jam jars out and smash them all over the pavement and start swearing at me (not a wise move given the mood I was in)...it was a nightmare, a move from hell. Lets not go there anymore. I did laugh finally when the other neighbour told me she was going to call the police about the fact I had put rubbish in her bin. I advised her to crack on.
This morning woke up, mist on the hills, faint smell of wood from the burner still lingering, nothing but birds singing and a few distant moos from a hungry cow. Came downstairs, lit the fire (thought I would treat myself, it is free after all) and had some tea. Just got to unpack a house full of boxes now!
Thank goodness we are out of suburbia. Never, ever again will Iive in it.
