I don't live too far from a village called New Invention. In another village nearby there's Bogey Lane.
Silly Spangled Appenzellers, Dutch bantams, Lavender Araucanas, a turkey called Alistair, Muscovy ducks and Jimmy the Fell pony. No pig left in the freezer, we ate him all!

We have a hamlet called Twatt. They tried to change the name of the graveyard but failed! My friend lives near the signpost to Twatt and she gets really annoyed with tourists having their picture taken next to the arrow!
There's a greetings card from Moonpig with a picture of that sign on it available on their website!

Its not an uncommon name - there are lots of Twatt's up here.
I'm being serious - check the directory for Aberdeenshire.

We live in Rotten End, but some one changed the name of the farm about 100 years ago & they are trying to change the name of Rotten End Cottages now. I think its a more interesting name than Corner Farm

Grunty fen in Cambridge, always made my Dad smile when we lived near there, and I think there a Piddle Fen too, there's a river Piddle, don't know if it's very long in which case would that make it a long Piddle.
