You need to look for a local contract farmer , try yellow pages or your agricultural supply merchants might reccommend someone.

Most of our local farmers have hedge cutters attached to the tractor at the moment.  Do you have a nearby farmer  Try one of them.  They will usually help out

Our guy is good, but I think Taunton is too far for him.
At this stage I would be inclined to go through every farmer near you in the phone book...just on the off chance.  You never know, you may find one who has a few hours spare and wants to make some easy money.

We had our hedges cut about 3 weeks ago...a fortnight later we get a call from the council saying our hedges are too long as a person had complained...the hedges were cut right back to the walls and the tops down too.  Some people!

Ours are part of our tenancy and because the neighbour has complained we have to get them cut or face eviction

Hello....right I have an idea and if you want to phone its 01823 421237
Now leaving the hedge to grow up is the right thing to do for good hedge management and what you need to do is tell the estate agent that you are managing the hedge in a traditional way and it is going to be laid properly either in the next couple of weeks or in September. My husband Pete is chair of the Somerset Hedge Group...google them as they have a website! You can ask him re management and then quote him if you want....
