Rare Breed Weaners wanted
« on: February 08, 2012, 10:53:37 pm »
Hi all,
I am based in the South East England, Kent/East Sussex boarder. I just wondered if any of you had any weaners that would be ready to go in the next 3-4 weeks? I'm only looking to have 2-3, preferably gilts? My first lot of Saddlebacks have just gone off, and I'm looking to replace. (They are for meat, as I know not everyone wants their pigs to meet this end).
Delivery preferable.
Will look forward to hear what's available.
Many thanks  :pig:

Suggest you keep a check on the Forums of the GOS Club (www.oldspots.org.uk) and the Saddleback Club (www.saddlebacks.org.uk) where lots of pigs are being advertised from most parts of the country. Others breeds also have similar facilities.

Dont know where you are, but a really nice guy called jonathan has some 8 to 10 week old GOS/saddleback weaners for sale near Wadhurst. Very plump lively piggies, i bought 1 myself last week. Let me know if you want his number, and they were a very good price.

Hi Novice,
YES PLEASE!!! I'm having a much harder job than I thought sourcing weaners without driving to Cumbria or something  >:(
Wadhurst is just down the road from me (we're in Crowborough) If you could put me in touch, I'd be very very grateful!  ;D

Sorry SMS, our spares went in between my original post and you contacting us.

If the Jonathan is Jonathan Bobbit, he is a really nice guy (he used to buy weaners from us!)

Hope you find some !
