Hi Everyone
« on: February 09, 2012, 07:48:39 pm »
Hello! I have recently moved to a small croft in the highlands (12acres) and my husband and I are looking forward to, now we have sorted out water supplies to outhouses etc, getting some livestock. We are about to apply for a grant to plant about 5acres in woodland, which will in years to come be fantastic for wildlife, livestock and shelter. We currently have 3 ponies, 14 ducks, 8 hens, 1 cockerel, a goose (who has been reared by a chicken and thinks he is one!) 3 lively cocker spaniels, 4 cats and 3 goldfish. Will be looking for lots of advice etc on other livestock!
Look forward to chatting to you!
  ;D

Hi Bruckley.
We are in Sutherland, so way up north, but moved from Moray. Love Aberdeenshire and Moray but have to say Highland life is great! - Colder, wetter, poorer ground, shorter days  but there is just something about here that is so special!

Hello and welcome. We're totally new to this and bought in December. We've no livestock at the moment apart from primates: our 5yo son and 21 month old daughters :)

It's all very exciting!

   HI and welcome from soggy Shropshire.  I agree with you about the Highlands.  Only passed through on the way to Orkney but lived in Isle of Arran, the north end of which is actually highlands as ther faultline goes diagonally across the island, so I suppose you could say I've lived in the HIghlands.

Hello from Staffordshire. Arte you sure you will have room for more livestock with all the others you have there? Sounds a great place. Nice and quiet with lots of fresh air.
