We're thinking about buying a wool duvet and pillows (and a mattress topper maybe). Anyone tried them? Are they as good as the blurb claims?

Does anything EVER live up to the manufacturer's claims?

I love my wool duvet (from Devon Duvets), it's so cosy.  But it is very heavy (even though it's the lighter of the two) so rather than have to change the duvet cover every week I use a sheet between the duvet cover and me so I just need to wash that weekly instead.

Last year after we had sheared the sheep someone came and took the lot, except for the few I wanted for spinning. and intended to send it off for cleaning and then to have a duvet made with the fleece.  A company here in France does it for you but dont know the cost.

so it saves having to put another Labrador on the bed at night.
