Ditto!  Congratulations.  When I heard about the Soc Sec being local, I thought you may well choose Sheltands, and almost posted that from what I have seen (being Rosemary's heifers) they sound and look ideal for what you are wanting  :)

.... I wonder if it is maybe time we talked about a Cumbrian TASers meet up?  ;) :D  I'd love to see your new herd!  And maybe other Cumbrians and those just over the border in Dumfries & Galloway...  :)

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

Just to let everyone know we now have 2 Heifers from Barry and took delivery of an in Calf Shetland Cow today will post some pics.
