Hi,
I was wondering,is there anyone localish to us PE8 whom has a mini digger -or larger jcb available-preferably with operator or without? we wish to clear the bottom of the paddock out which was overgrown and full of rubble when we moved in,if we could clear this area and the sides of the paddock it would be so much larger!

Obviously we are prepared to pay.

If theres access for a bigger than mini digger I would def go with the big one

One cos they tend to come with driver, who are generally amazingly skilful, our local one could pick a cherry off a tree I reckon with his

Two because altho they seem expensive they can do the job ten times quicker or more.

And third cos they tend to drive themselves to the job, which means no hassle of pickup/drop off.

The only time mini diggers are easier are where eg doing a long thin trence in restricted space etc or where there are difficult issues re access or concerns about grass damage etc.

Edited to add this is from experience of a year long renovation of a farm involving a lot of trenching and groundworks for house and also stable block which had to be built on a slope - major civil engineering thing that turned into!

Sorry don't know which bit of Perthshire is PE8 but I hire a guy with both a JCB and a minidigger on a trailer, he's between Newburgh (Fife) and Abernethy (Perthshire)..  Charges by the hour but that includes his travel time which with the JCB is very slow so not sure if it would make sense if you're west/north rather than SE..
