When you're rich and famous, will you still talk to us?
Of course I will, without the support from here I probably would have just knit for myself and friends and never ventured into other things like extreme knitting.

You are so lucky to have a wool shop local.
Could I be really cheeky and ask you to find out for me. I have always done day courses and don't really have a clue on prices for classes.
I have decided to do the taster sessions at the exhibition for free and just charge for materials if they finish a piece and want to take it.

check out www.woolforewe.com

its a lovely little shop in aberdeen. sells wool from british breeds which i thought was great.

I was given dozens of cones of wool by a friend whose wife (now dead) had been a keen machine knitter.  I took all the four ply - there wasn't any thicker - so will be using multi strands to do extreme knitting.

OOOOOHHHHHHH 4 ply you will be able to use about 20 strands on 24mm needles to get a nice finish

Just about to start a scarf.  I've wound in into balls then wounds 3 balls together so I'll only need 7 balls.

gosh you're efficient, I pop all the balls in a box grab the ends and start knitting. You could do an i-cord and then knit that another great effect.

It sounds efficient but some of the strands seem to be longer than others in the same ball so I keep having to untangle it as I go.  Think I''ll go for single balls in boxes next time.  I have some shoe boxes so I can make holes in the lids.

What is an i-cord?

i-cord is where you take the strands and knit a 4 stitch round and then take that to knit with

Wow, never heard of that before.  I bet it gives a nice chunky effect though

I presume you do this on four needles.  It sounds very fiddly.
