turkey walking strangely
« on: December 18, 2011, 05:26:34 am »
our norfolk black turkey hen (15mths) has started walking strangely.
she lifts her legs up really high when she walks. (like a pony with stringhalt)
do u think this is caused by her sleeping on shed roof in such cold weather? shes tricky to catch to put away at night. she used to be fine until recently.
any remedy to cure it?
thanx

I have a cockrel that high steps like John Cleeses ministry of funny walks. He has been this way for more than a year I think he has had some kind of a challenge and it has left him with some brain or ear damage.  I have heard of others with similar symptoms with different outcomes, from full recovery to death.

problem solved. it was merely a lump of mud stuck to her feathers and swinging underneath her while she walked. removable immediately solved the fawlty towers walk...lol
