TAS Christmas Shows 2011
« on: December 15, 2011, 03:09:27 pm »
We've just opened the inaugural TAS Online Shows, and would like to invite all members to enter.

We're starting gently with two small shows, one for pigs and one for poultry. There's a prize class in each show, with two great books on offer.  :trophy: :trophy:

Entry is free. Winners in this first show will be decided by popular vote - all members get one vote in each class. Entries close on Christmas Eve, when voting will start. Voting ends on New Year's Day.

You'll find the shows here: TAS Online Shows together with a full show guide.

Have fun, and please let us know what you think of the shows. :)

Thanks to Buffy who first suggested the idea of online shows, and to those who tested the show entry system.  :bouquet:

Hi All

Not been on for ages but received the announcement through an email.

Sounds like fun. I'm going to enter one of our five hens. Pass me the  :trophy:

Not sure I can come up with a winter scene from our back garden but I'm up for the challenge

Good luck everyone

Dan has made real easy to load your photo Wendy, just save the photo from your preferred site (I use Picasa) to your Document Library or photo file; when you click to enter the show it takes you to where you upload your pics click the browse which should take you to your Documents find the file with your pics in and click the photo you want to use and that's it it will load to the site.

Go on give it a go if I can do it anyone can... :dunce:

Good luck to everyone entering

So when do I get the chance to show off my goatie girls?  ;D

feathered friends don't seem to keen on posing - too busy sheltering under shrubs + hedges ::)

A great idea, thank you for the invite, I really need to make more time to get involved in the boards more, work has a habit of imposing more and more on my time!  I will look through my existing pictures though I suspect I will need to take some specific pictures for the show.

shame I didn't take a picture of the hens in time when there was snow - none forecast up to Christmas here, I think. that's the only reason I mind not having snow just now  ;D ;D :&>

Voting is now open, for those of you with nothing better to do on Christmas Day.  :D

Every member gets one vote in each class, whether you've entered or not, so please vote!

It's easy to vote - visit the Online Shows page, browse to a class and click the 'Vote' link below any entry.

Hens were very difficult, could have done with about 6 votes  ???
pity No 2 didn't have a hen on the drivers seat!  :D

Hope nobody thought I was complaining there wasn't a goat class, just that my hens disappear all day and my goaty girls are always wanting to know what I'm doing, I love them all  ;D

It's a fabulous idea, very well executed.  But yes, one vote in each class is nowhere near enough!

Thanks Dan for getting these up and running, Buffy (was it?) for the original idea, and to everyone who uploaded their lovely snaps for us all to enjoy over Christmas.
