my 2 heifers have returned after 6 wks at stud, they now have thick winter coats so are like cuddly bears (with horns - lol). iv missed them so delighted they are back.
fingers crossed for at least 1 heifer calf xx  ;) ;)

It's funny how you miss them, we found the same. Ours are getting woolier too.

I've got my fingers crossed for at least one bull calf.  :D

its years since wev had any beef - i refuse to buy meat on principle that we shud grow it ourselves, we have a good variety of meat - just not beef ...mmmm
we used trondra arrow. was ur bull viking? if so which one?
as we are getting our own bull next year, it make sense for us to wish for 2 heifers, then i can keep them both! but that would be very lucky !

Breeze is in calf to Stanemore Odin by AI, Blizzard to Collafirth Viking by the real thing.

Trondra Arrow is half brother to our Blizzard, I think (one of our two, anyway).

I'm currently trying to sort out a bull for next August.

our 2 girls are from twin sisters so maybe we cud get twins??  ::) ::)

our bull (still a calf at mo - born aug 11) will be here next year. he is from black isle.
u cud borrow him if u wanted, tho im not sure what age they are supposed to work. i can find out bloodlines if u want, just pm me.
are u gona keep ur heifers calves or sell them?

arrow is very nice and chunky.

Ours are chunky too. I thought that was from their sire, but it must be from the cows. They look beefy compared to CorreDhu's who look more dairy.

We'll sell heifers for breeding - we're only keeping two cows as that's all the grazing we have. If we have bull calves, we'll have them cut and kep them for beef.

It would be good to know the breeding of your boy. He'll be old enough to work next August, for sure.
