OK so the O'kits have been with us for 6 weeks now and over the last week I have been letting them out for 30 mins before teatime so they could get used to getting in and out of the window in the tack room.
Yesterday I let them out in the morning so they could play out all day, which gave me hours of fun watching there antics of getting stuck up the tree and on the shed roof. Well in the afternoon Ophelia followed me back into the tackroom when I was busy and just stayed in there having a snack on biscuits when I left to get on, about 30 mins later I toodled back down to the house where Ophelia was lying on the doorstep munching the biggest rat I have ever seen. So the rat population is decreasing even more now which is good. This morning when I got dressed ready to go out to the animals Ophelia had already let herself out via the stable and was waiting with nothing more than a rabbit for me (lovely).
So I am so happy I have 3 semi feral kittens that seem to be settled and enjoy terrorising the vermin and they don't mind humans anymore to the point they look for affection when we are around

Now Odette has just getting stuck up the tree again, I left her for 20 mins to see if she could work it out like her sisters but no she just sat and cried. The tree isn't very big as it is an ornamental pear but she is such a whoose so popped her down and she ran straight to the window and into the tackroom and hasn't come back out (don't blame them it is windy and cold here today.
I'm just heading out to clean the stables so lets see what mischeif this afternoon brings.

Ahh, an "I'm stuck up a tree" cat ... oh-oh....     Sounds like you are pretty agile yourself ... probably just as well!

sounds like they are just fine!
The tree thing will sort out eventually ... its like kids at a playground, they just need to build their confidence.
I had to rescue Alfie a good few times from the big sycamore (easy to shin up, not many branches to climb down by)
til he was brave enough to follow his new brother down.
He now spends as much time up a tree chasing the birds as he down looking down mouse holes!!

Well come in from shopping to hear meeewww meeewww from under the shed. Rain pouring down I was on my hands and knees thinking there was a problem, Ophelia was just shouting to tell me she isn't coming out as she has dinner (juicy rat) and it is raining.
So I went into the tackroom to feed the other 2 but they had ordered take out as well another rat which they were 'sharing' so I popped their dinner down just in case they hadn't had enough, just as I did Ophelia shot in the window and straight to the bowl I'm sure that little kitten could hear her food being put out from a mile away.

There is no doubt they are doing their job well, even though they do like seconds

Well they seem to be settling with the new found freedom.
None of them are sure about the horse as yet and won't go near the stables and hay store if he is there, they like to watch chicken TV through the fence and don't have a clue what to make of the sheep at all.
It is great watching their confidence grow and little personalities shining through.

I come home tonight to find Ophelia wanting on the drive for me (luckly she knows to hide whilst I drive in) then she came running to the car to remind me it was tea time. I have had to pull there window closed tonight as it is so cold but I'm sure they will jump up and over into the stable and let themselves out if they really need to be out.

Yes, if they really want to go out they will find a way I am sure.  They seem to be getting on so well.

I am so enjoying having them around.
When I'm out digging or gardening they are there next to me so it gives me something to talk to, they are such good company.
