Favourite Feed Brands?

Does anybody have an opinion on different brands of feeds?

We use Fancy Feeds but only because that is convenient for us to get a hold of.

I am starting to think about next year's brooder setups and whether to stick to FF chick crumb or try something else.

Also - Last year I had chick grit down adlib and was reading about on the Internet to find one site suggesting this is bad practice incase chicks fill up on it and don't take enough feed. I may now just sprinlke over feed every few days instead.
Any opinions on feeding chick grit?

We didn't have great survival rates last year and it may have been down to egg quality seeing as a lot were picked up from auction but just want to ensure that when we start up again our feeding/raising methods are the best we can do.

the cheapest non-gm pellets  - Farmgate at the moment, previously Spillers and D&H. Wheat from the farm down the road. :&>
