result!!
« on: September 29, 2011, 06:53:08 pm »
ive been saving all summer for a small woodburner for my kitchen, my old house is very cold in the winter and i didnt want to be scraping ice from the insides of the windows again this year, so, off i went to the shop with 200 nicker in my pocket, paid for the burner and went to the depot to have it loaded. and came home with a £500 burner that they had loaded by mistake, so instead of 5kw to warm us this winter i now have 13kw!

Sounds like a great piece of luck - whenever I get a big piece of luck, especially if several things go really well in one day, I go and buy a lottery ticket!  After Meg's wonderful piglets, I actually won £10.  Which makes £15 I've won on the lottery in my whole life!  (Previous was half-shares in a tenner in, um, 1998 or 1999 I think...)

Something similar happened to my brother in PC World.  He was buying his daughter a laptop for uni and the salesman tried to give him a much more expensive one.  When my brother said, "That's not the one we looked at."  the salesman was adamant it was in a 'what do you know anyway?' tone of voice.  My brother worked in IT for thirty years - he did know.  Result?  One expensive laptop for the price of a cheap one.

I may sound like a fitter - but make sure you have the airblocks fitted, ventilation, ventilation, ventilation ;)

The old 'lift from one end' turn and 'lift again' routine lol

Fucc - invite a mate round and then show them the other end of the weighted object as a surprise 'lift this matey :)
