Where is Sandy?
« on: September 22, 2011, 12:21:29 pm »

Having read in members only that Sandy has left thought that I would post on here as she will not be able to see the other posts
So come back Sandy your wisdom and common sense will be missed. I also notice Hilary'smum is missing too

I'd noticed Hilarysmum wasn't about too and sent a PM a few weeks ago.  Haven't heard anything back.  Hope she is OK.

I'm glad you thought about this, Daisys Mum - I stupidly started the topic in members only and never thought that as a guest, Sandy wouldn't be able to read all our good wishes and miss yous!

Sandy, if you're looking, here's a selection:

I think I haven't seen a post from Sandy in very recent days and now I find I can't find her in the member list - and her name has gone 'guested' on the topic she started here.

Is she ok, does anyone know?

What happened we haven't upset her have we ? I hope not i like reading her posts always a good humour to them and that rare commodity common sense. I had wondered about her guest status but didn't like to ask.

I hope you get to see this Sandy and come back soon.

Ian

??? ??? ???

Oh, and if you're there Sandy,   and come back soon!!

If Sandy is only a guest she will not be able to see this so I suggest we repost in the Coffee lounge, I to miss her common sense so will start it off

Hi, thanks, still around, looked at some other forums but do not like them, although I may post one day, not for a while as I hate the fact some people dominate threads and so put other people with different views off. I have given up trying as I know what will happen if I did post the things I want to chat about, I also am very open but now have opened myself up far too much and no going back other than to shut down some of the openings!!! SO, I shut off this. I am sorry if this sounds vauge but I do not want to upset anyone but would add, no matter how many years people have done things had jobs for etc, there is always another view point..I have also found out other things that I realy do not like so...no good me posting on here at all sadly....I value other opinion and enjoyed getting to know people and for a while will have a big hole in my life!!!!!!!! THANKSSSSSSS

Oh Sandy
Surely posts and replies aren't that bad?
I know I'm only a newcomer, and you tend to see the same names cropping up a lot, but if some people dominate that's because they're allowed to because others don't come in with their view, Isn't that what forums are about? :)
I always say everyones entitled to their opinion, even the OH. ;D
Looked in on another site for a while and some members were getting quite abusive to each other, I think this is a lovely friendly site. Or maybe I haven't come across the 'baddies' yet.
maybe there was one on dog breeding, but I think there was some misunderstandings there, sometimes you don't think to put the full side of things andthen somebody possibly misunderstands the first post.
Don't give up Sandy, it's different opinions which help us understand more, yours is obviously as valuable as anyones, or why would others be asking for you?
tofinish with another saying-
It would be a boring old world if we all thought the same. :)

Just popped back for the last time, to make it all a bit clearer (as mud!!) Its not JUST the posts on here etc.....I nearly left in the past due to some one opening a can of worms for me and only me!!! Trust me, there is a lot more than just TAS that I have to stop as I cannot excuse me Fart without some one telling people when and how strong it was....I am no gossip and hate it, I do not want to know others business as life is too short but some one seems to have an over interest in everything I do, so, the reasons I come on this forum, to ask questions and have a chat, has been spoilt as eg...if I said I had a new car..some one would be asking where the money came from and I may want to hide the fact that I just robbed a bank or sold some contraband ::)...also I have my business to think of too, some people could and would put a damper on that one too and I know people may jump to conclusions but things happen that cannot be just accidental and its NOT some one taking our trade, we like the other B&B being here by the way, there always has been more than one and we know we loose people to locals who rent rooms so please do not jump on that one,it is nothing to do with our competitors and its not fair of me to say on here or in private, my husband and family know exactly what I am talking about so, its ta tar and know one is as sad as me for leaving but I assure you ALL I do not back down easily but some people are a bit too clever so no more game play for me, I quit!!!!!!!! THanks

Sorry you feel you have to leave, Sandy :(  I for one, and I am sure there are lots more people on here, will miss your post. And I think you will miss being on here too .....

I was on a horse forum, for many years,  sadly as the forum grew, and more people joined, the arguments and back biting started.  A couple of people caused a lot of trouble for other members, including me. There is always someone, isn't there?  I made the decision, and it was hard, as I had made some very good friends on there, to distance myself - I am still a member, and look in to the forum, but do not get involved any more.

Therefore I do understand in a way, why you are leaving.

I am SO glad that I now have Sandy as a friend on Facebook as I would have missed her terribly since she has left here. She is one of the warmest, friendliest and funniest people I've grown to know (and love!!) here on TAS and although I totally understand her reasons for not staying, I find it very sad, very sad indeed.

The forum provides a cloak of anonymity through the use of a name chosen by the user but this is easily breached by accident if there are other users nearby who known the individual and recognise a situation being talked about.   Maybe Sandy could return in a different identity and be a little cautious: free speech is a valuable resource.

I'm pretty confident that none of my neighbours or friends follow TAS but I'm quite careful in what I say. I always re-read my comments before I post them because I come from an unforgiving business background where compliance officers roam free but moral bankruptcy has won.   We also know that some of the Travellers from That Site have shown up near enough for me to have bought some more padlocks.   Thats why my location on the TAS map shows me residing on the runway of Luton airport!

Oh dear! I feel a bit like I used to do as a child when my parents had a falling out. We all have different opinions and views on things but, please, don't leave home!! :'( :'(
