Pedigree GOS sow for sale N Yorks
« on: September 14, 2011, 10:09:46 am »
We have a four year old pedigree (papers available) Ellen GOS sow for sale. Skipton North Yorkshire.

She is a fantastic mother, best litter so far has been 16, with 14 surviving - average litter 12.

She has a many years left in her, fantastic natured, we want to sell due to shortage of winter housing and wanting to downsize due to young family commitments!!

She will be weaned from her current litter on the 14th so is ready for the boar during the 14th – 20th of September (if you prefer she can stay with our boar until this date)

If interested please call Andy, who is open to offers for the fantastic sow. 07968 595719

Note

I bred this pig and she would make an excellent pig for a beginner to farrow with, if she's anything like her mum she will be extremely laid back and a very good mum.

surely Mandy when you look at the prices you have quoted it seems to me that someone has got a bargin from you, i know at lanark prices are  dyre ,there is some pigs that go to lanark and the sow prices are similar to what you got for your's but the weaners sometimes go for a fiver, and there are supposed to be pedigree.  :pig:

Mandy it is not getting harder       it is getting easier to make money from pigs you sold her for £60  she would weigh over 200 kilos  you just lost £100 at least      cull sows are making over a pound a kilo
it is your choice get a good return on your pig or allow some one else to make money :farmer:

Pigs belonged to a friend, the sow (which i bred) was too good to cull and produced great piglets so somebody did get a good bargain, the owner just had too many sows & litters to cope with and not enough pork orders to account for them, thats what i meant by things getting harder, people are cutting back and where they may have previously bought half a pig now they can only afford a quarter!
