I'd love to but it's an awful hike for us and there's so much I should be doing here.

Rats, not only could I have liked to go, I could have done with offloading some chickens and ducks too. I've got 3 places i can be that day - and weekends and weekends free otherwise  ::) I expect I have missed the entry date too.

Where do you get the info. about upcoming sales at Carlisle?

Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

Meg's due to farrow on 15th (or anytime in the week after that, depending on whether you use a lunar or a calendar month!)

So we'll see...  I'd love to go if I can.

Thank you for that link Sally  :).
If you go down below the catalogue bit there is a good press release about the sale, with info on the number of animals forward, the importance of rare breeds and a bit about the RBST.  It will be so good if we can get Lanark rare breeds sale RBST approved and have such positive publicity for it.
jaykay - if you scroll down below the press release there is a bit where you can sign up to receive updates from the mart.

Unfortunately I don't think I will be there  :( although I have been on many previous occasions.  There is usually quite a good atmosphere in the ring.  Do they still have the plant sale etc through the back?

Or try Harrison and Hetherington and it comes up with their website with full details.  The catalogue came out yesterday - I've bought one, not sure if its on line.  I'll be the one peering at the catalogue because I've forgotten my specs and I'll be with OH who looks like a tall version of the men from ABBA (don't say I said) and the kids who are spending all their pocket money on RBST goodies.  Hope to see you there, it's always very exciting, I'll try and focus when I'm bidding so I don't end up with another cockerel again... ;D
