St Swithin's Day
« on: July 15, 2011, 08:54:16 am »
is today.

Supposedly, if it rains today, it'll rain for 40 days and nights.  Where I am that's been pretty much true for the last four years.   :(

But, today has dawned bright and sunny, though cloudier and showery forecast for later on.  The forecast tomorrow is rain, rain and more rain.

Do we put the haymaking equipment away until the end of August?

It's lovely here - blue skies and sun. And it's my birthday! Off for a lovely lunch with my wonderful OH. After I've fed the hens and picked poo  ;D

Lovely here although clouding up a bit now. Just been for a delicious lunch at The But 'n' Ben in Auchmithie. Feeling a little sleepy now so may have a nap before walking the dogs  :)

Most parts of the country have enjoyed a fine summers day today, with plenty of sunshine.

But although it's the last thing the UK tourist industry wants to hear, the message is enjoy it while it lasts.

By the weekend low pressure will again be dominating our weather as the jet stream moves further south than normal, as it did for much of June.

The two charts below, the first for this sunday and the second for a week on sunday are typical of what we can expect for much of the rest of July.
