New SCOTTISH Sheep and goat Movement document
« on: July 14, 2011, 08:26:04 pm »
Did everyone else get their pads....somehow SAMU forgot me - they apparently came out in may! but i didnt get mine.

I thought I would mention this before others got caught out...apparently some of the Marts are refusing the animals because the owners are using the old style sheets.

I think you can still use up your old pad but will have to fill out the separate health declaration that is included on the new forms. If you have run out contact SAMU

The pad I got when I registered the flock will do all my life  ;D We don't send sheep to market really, but we download the ones with the Food Chain Information declaration if we are.

I have just started to use my new one, with the old one still being more than half empty/unused... I just hope they don't think I have sold these forms on e-bay (and come down on me like a ton of bricks).... but it just seems easier to not have to print out extra stuff for sending the lambs/hoggets off.

And I also thought that I now have to identify my goats individually if taking them to a show - no space on the old froms for that.

I was told by SAMU that the old books were to be discarded no matter whether they have been mostly used up or only a few sheets taken.

The big change is the requirement to record individual identifications of any sheep or goat born in 2010 or 2011, markets and abattoirs will do this for you ,private sales or as ANKE says shows need you to record tag no's and the new documents have a section for this. If you haven't received the new movement book then have you not also received the new holding register???
