Rosemary, he is very timid of people he doesnt know (better than he was) but he is soooo nosey, and such a poser for the camera!
He always has a good look over the fence to see who's coming, then skips away and looks all imposing (or tries, he's only little really!)

What a poser! I see from his horns that he has little chips missing, as my boys have. Ive been worried about this but I assume that your boy has too, its normal. I keep feeling that I want to rub E45 cream into them or vaseline. Obviously its NOT the thing to do!!

yes, I think its just how they grow and take knocks - like your fingernails would if they kept growing!
the horns help them to cool down, so I wouldnt put anything too greasy on them!

he is " Fields Farm Cesar" sired by "Aldernham Joshua" & his dam is "Oddsfarm Willow"

I would think a wether would have smaller horns, less testosterone ... but then, how large do a females' horns grow?!

Cesar's are just starting to curl round, he is just over 2.

please show us some pictures of yours now!
our kids are cross bred, so I'm missing out on first-hand Bagot kids! :)

bagots are so wild  ???  we get ambushed when we go in their pen, the worse culprit was the nanny that was the shyest when we got her. now we can grab her and sit her on ur knee for a cuddle.
as they share with the chickens, it now takes 2 of us to clean the chook house as we get mobbed by the goats! so glad we got bagots cos i quite liked the pygmies but wanted a british breed, alot of character!!!
did u ever show ur billy blue?

wev reserved a odds farm billy kid for the autumn so hopefully we can straighten up our markings and improve on our nannies, which have too much colour. it will take time but the ambition is there!

they're gorgeous, thanks!
brown where Ces is black.

No, haven't & wouldnt show him... too nervous of strangers, and I'd worry about disease etc.
Thats one reason we keep a billy - closed herd.
And he's small enough to do the business, but not too big to handle ;)

and really, really, doesn't smell too bad.  (I know nobody believes me, but its true!) He gets all the seeds from the hay stuck in the hair round his horns, and I can rub them out & it only smells abit goaty on my hands!

aye they are all chocolate brown (im pretty sure the breed standard said they are black and white  ??? but they are registered,) the kids looked black when born so we'l see what we get from the new billy. iv only see his foto at 1 day old but his markings are good.
i wonder whether a 6 mth billy cud work?
