Two Old-But-Fab Land Rover Discoveries for sale...
« on: July 04, 2011, 03:42:47 pm »
We have two white Land Rover Discoveries surplus to our requirements.....we can only drive two cars at once so really don't need the collection we have!!

One is a five door V5 TDi all singing and dancing petrol model with all the electrics, Land Rover alloys automatic, with two sunroofs and tan leather interior. Really great condition inside and out. N-reg, genuine 95,000 miles. Kept indoors for last 3 years but starts fine. Front lights were smashed by a vandal but we have replacement headlights to go with the car (you'll need to find second hand side lights). £900

The other is a three door V5 TDi manual petrol model. Absolutely immaculate inside and out. It has been kept indoors for the last 12 years(!) but has been 'turned over' regularly and starts first time. J-reg, 140,000 miles. £800

Both are currently stored in Paisley. Neither have TAX or MOTs but they should both pass with the minimal of fuss (or cost!)

Call David on 07960-199660 if interested as he's better placed to answer any questions.

They can both be viewed on Gumtree Glasgow (they were just listed today)

Brilliant work horses (but well looked after!). Oh and they both have tow bars too.

A V5 tdi petrol? That's a rare one. A rare two in fact. Even rarer, an old disco that passes it's MOT with little fuss or cost.

I'd be quite interested in getting back into Landrovers. Been a few years since my last one.

Would need to know for sure whhat they are though - either V8 (petrol) or TDi (diesel).

I used to have a big V8 Disco converted to LPG. Great workhorse but the wife killed it by driving 30 miles with no oil or water in it. :(

Eeek! Looks like they will do 16-18 mpg! (i.e. nearly as bad as my Defender LOL!  ;D).

Still, I wonder how much an LPG kit might cost, as that's still quite a lot of car for the money.

Wouldn't trust the info on that chart Womble....I can guarantee that the 5 door automatic one (think it has a turbo engine) goes WELL  over 105mph ;D

If you press down on the accelerator it takes off really fast.....but then if you floor it, it seems to have a second speed of....oh what's it called (???).....Fecking Fast!!  ;)

Good luck selling your discos. Puzzles me a bit if they will both fly through an MOT why don't you get them tested as they'll be worth twice as much if they're as good as you say they are??

Hughsey, you're a barrel of laughs and such a cynic! Time is the answer my friend....or lack of it!

Running our farm is a full time job.....but I also have a demanding day job and two on-line businesses to run. We're out from 8am - 11pm and in the middle of all this we are also trying to build a house!

The cars are at our warehouse which is 20miles in the wrong direction from where we spend the majority of our time.......and yes they will sail through their MOT.....and yes they are a rare find in their current condition for their year.

Now you know everything! With the greatest respect, if you're not interested in buying them go off and annoy someone else as my usual patience is wearing thin thanks to 4 1/2 hours stuck on the M8 today.

Oh poor you, I hear about that crash this morning - car and lorry, man dead woman not doing good, both sides closed all day between Edinburgh and Glasgow!  If I had any spare cash I'd have one of these for the next horrendous winter, Gillian, but my money's all tied up till November.  Don't think you'll take long to sell them. Oh, and I was gettign fed up of the puerile comments too, BTW ;) ;D

Thanks for the extra info but we really need a diesel this time. Both look nice and tidy though.

For anyone wondering, we used to get up to 24 mpg from ours (H reg) so long as you were gentle on the throttle and on a good run. No turbo on the petrol models.
