We planned to go but, with no money and no time, hubby working the weekend and lots going on for me, including one of those stupid team building day's!!!!!!, SO, we are NOT going  If anyone goes to Scone, I would like to see photos and also know, what you bought, what you ate and what you saw, that way I can get a little flavor and will walk round and round the garden and house to tire me out like I was actually at the show, may even take a hot roast pork roll and coffee while I am walking around the garden and chuck a few quid over the fence!!!!!!!

I went last year, and the year before, and the year before that ad infinitum, because I am into the huntin' shootin' fishin' thing breed of dog. And to be honest it's the same old same old - £15 to get into a big shopping arcade, rarely any bargains, same stands every year, same gundog display and falconry display, same food hall, trailing the dogs around when it's too hot for them and they aren't allowed in anything.  Not bothering this year - finishing off my chicken run and gardening instead, then going to Aberdeen on Sunday.

I just love seeing people and animals etc, not shopping, thats better done on tinternet!!! I used to go to a lot of game fairs in England and Agricultural, gardening shows and VW shows etc, I just love people watching more than anything, so never the same as people are always different!!!!!

I'm with you Sandy - the people watching was the best part.   We awarded points on the day for the person who could spot the most psychotic springer spaniel, the nicest Landy, the owner who looked most like his labrador, the most awful tartan troos ..... etc. etc!

SOme years ago I went to Fordingbridge agricultural show and I soooo wanted to take photos of people, some farmer types in thier old fashioned suits, very shinny shoes and thier women in posh crimplene frocks and best cardi etc, I loved it!!!!! I can just see me on the sea front with an ice cream!!!

  Years ago, after dresses made of linen and cotton that took ages to wash and iron, and they would crease, a BIG invention came about called crimplene!!! It did not need ironing, it stretched so dresses made from it would fit you as you grew too and it came in a variety of colours....the trend stayed with those who get stuck in an eara to keep onto this trend setting material with memories of comfort but they made any little bit of sweat multiply and so not ideal.....

(I do not own a crimplene dress ) A lot of ladies had suits made from it that they wore for best and weddings, so, going to shows!!!

Personally I make a rule never to wear crimplene. I object to the senseless killing of crimples, just for their fur.  .

I wore a lovely lemon crimplene dress when Sandy and I got engaged.  I felt a million dollars in it.  Mine wasn't stretchy at all.
