Pls save Norris.....
« on: July 01, 2011, 09:22:06 am »
Good Morning all,
I came across this advert on Preoved this morning which put a huge smile on my face and felt I needed to help find him a home..

Norris is looking for a new home who can understand his special issues!
He is a lovely, friendly big, year old white duck -he was meant to be a White Campbell but I cannot vouch for his pedigree and he will be no use for breeding as he considers himself a chicken!
He was the only duckling in a hatch so was fostered by a broody hen and her batch of chicks. He has imprinted onto her and now considers himself a chicken - he does like a swim and a splash and will chat with the other ducks in passing but will hang out with the hens and chaperone them to lay and wait on guard while they do. But he has a real liking for his foster mother and some of the other old hens and is a bit of a sex pest, driving them mad.

He is a very healthy, lovely chap and I do not wish to see him go in the pot but I cannot house him separately and need to find him a new, free range home. He lives with chickens, guinea fowl, turkeys and ducks right now and is a convivial guy but he is one for the old ladies so needs a home with other ducks or sprightly young hens who can run fast!
If you feel you can help him find a safe forever home and save him (and his poor foster mum) from his Oedipus complex then please get in touch!

His location is Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.showadvert/index-1034084307/6a8fd54b.html
I have a feeling life with this fella would never be dull...lol.

Too far away, but I'd have had him.  My ducks and chickens all free range together happily
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

I do! I love ducks but..just told tony and it was a resounding NO! I said "but he's called norris..." and I got in return "don't try personalising it, No". so...that's the end of that then!

Same method as with shoes/handbags/plants etc -

'Oh no dear, we've had that ages!'

Then make him feel bad for not noticing before!   ;D

He shouldn't fight with your cockerel, though if he's as randy as my drake he may try it on with he hens once in a while  ::)
