Not only am I a newbie to TAS but a newby to smallholding in general. Loving the learning and all that goes with the lifestyle.

Looking forward to hopefully learning all I can from the more experienced members.

Hello and welcome from damp north Cumbria

Up until five years ago I'd never had more than chickens, cats and dogs of my own.  Now I farm beef & sheep, and have a house cow, a pig (with more inside her  :pig: :pig: :pig:) and native ponies.  (No more ducks till we have somewhere safe from the marauding mink.  >:()  Planning fantail pigeons next.

Have fun - do share your adventures  :)

Thanks for the welcome guy's.

Sally, we've been here just 7 weeks and learning fast. We too have a sow in pig due end August, 3 Welsh mules and a Wiltshire Horn ram currently running with them that was given to us  last week, so lots of learning as we go it seems. Today I took in a dozen 1 year old ex battery hens, they can join my flock of 11 when they settle down in a week or so.

I'll certainly be seeking advice from more experienced members and posting our progress.

Thanks for the welcome,

Mark

Apols if I am about to ask granny if she knows how to suck an egg... but where are you and when are you wanting to start lambing?
