When to put baby cockeral outside
« on: February 08, 2009, 07:17:17 pm »
Hi all

We have a silke x cockeral who is now 12 weeks old,he was born inside and has been off the lamp since he was 5 weeks old,he has been in a room with no heating and was just wondering when he would be able to go outside, the plan is for him to go with our 7 hens, what would be the best way to introduce him to them.

Thanks

If he is well feathered and the shed they are in is cosy I would put him out with them any time.  Put him in at night when they have gone to bed and he should be accepted by them quite happily.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
