A bad day
« on: June 24, 2011, 06:20:33 pm »
Why is it that some days just STINK? Today I have discovered that I have grey mound on my lettuce, end rot on the courgettes, cabbage root fly on the entire brassica crop, my cheese failed and my best bt nanny has decided that she will probably not last the night (I have different ideas on that score and have decided that she just needs keeping in with plenty of hay and water).

Is there a greater 'being' sitting on the cloud above my house thinking, " she looks far too happy, we'll just throw a few things her way"?

I am currently sitting drowning my sorrows with last years rhubarb and gorse flower wine...tomorrow might be better (except for the thumping headache at milking time I guess :P)

(Oh...and...I totally blew my diet on a mint aero!!)

A lot of people's mojos seem to be off today!

I've had one of those days today too!

On the bright side - I MIGHT win Euromillions later!  Oooh I think we could cheer up with £105million.

I had a bad week last week Skirza so I know where you are coming from. sometimes it just feels like everything is stacked up against you!
for what its worth, my maiden milker (saanenX) decided  to give up 'the goat' so to speak! but hay and water and finally some intervention from the vet in the form of a magic injection that dried up the scour (4 days after she got ill!) I now have a happy healthy goat that thinks she is a wiggly labrador and keeps baaaing and dancing to me!
hang in there  ;) the harder times are only here to remind us just how brilliant the good times are as a smallholder xx

Last week most people I were in contact with had a bad week, all sorts going wrong including washing machines (I just broke my door off but I can still wash with it) Maybe there is something in the air, maybe we have to have a balance, so those who had good luck durring the last few days can swap over and have some bad......not  too bad though!! Like that 80's song "THings, can olnly get better" :D
