Ellisr,
Your felting is lovely. I am very impressed. How wonderful to get a commission from the US.

I am still in a hotel room in the US myself so it isn't possible for me to give it a try at the moment. Instead I went to the library today to get some ideas for when I am home.  There are some lovely craft books with felted bags, slippers, hats, babies booties.  I am itching to give it a go.

Sally any craft is much bigger and more accesible out there, my friend does patchwork but she all her material flown in from the US as they have a better selection. If possible can you PM me the names of the books as I would love to read them.

Ellisr,
Stupidly I didn't take down the names of the books.  I am kicking myself now.

I will definitely be going back to the library at some stage and will make sure I get them for you when I do.

You are right about there being more crafts here.  The local library has loads of craft books. Much more than any of the libraries I have seen at home. Patchwork in particular is very popular as you have said.  Of course there is the Amish community here who make fantastic patchwork quilts. I intend to go and have a look before I leave here.

Happy felting

Ellisr,
I went back to the library today and got the names of the books

Felt - by Robyn Steel-Stickland, this is a very small book but it had a table runner, babies blanket, cushion and a few other bits.

Complete Feltmaking - by Gillian Harris, this has a tea cosy, slippers, babies booties, a wall hanging, bag and 3D beads

Enjoy
Sally

Here its a craft desert perhaps I should start watching the American sites, my problem would be cost of postage and of course the dreaded customs.

I have found a few good books whilst I have been here (US) on all sorts of crafts.  Checking between amazon UK and amazon.com they are either the same in USD or cheaper so actually work out quite a bit cheaper overall.
I am going to order them while I am here.  The company will be paying for my excess luggage so I should be ok.
