Laughed my head off - very spooky indeed - Ginger nuts are so special. We get a visit every 2 weeks from ringtons- a 100 yr old tea and biscuit company -there from newcastle and do door to door deliveries  with  beauties in a wicker basket -they serve the queen i believe - heh -well the ginger nuts are extraordinary  - the sultan cookies are a dream - the triple choc digestives are more ish and the tiffing cake is out of this world - ringtons.co.uk - very recommended -

Love the idea of housesitting and what about house swap, they say a change is as good as a rest! If somebody wants a longweekend in somerset and prepared to look after our chickens, etc would be very happy to do a swap for a change of scene. It can be very difficult getting away otherwise cant it? Sandy , love the photo of you and your ginger nuts! Just had a cup of tea and a hotcross bun so thats spooky too!

Hi Sandy

No, the sheep blew away!  Back to about force 9 again tonight! We got a sprinkling of snow here and it froze a bit which is very unusual for Lewis.
We seem to get opposite weather from mainland.  Last spring when there were photos of flooding in england on TV we had 6 weeks without a drop of rain.  It was a problem as we had to water everything and the grass didn't start growing till June. 
It is a beautiful country and this Island may just be the best of it!  We wouldn't be anywhere else anyway.
