Eek! going to be on TV!!!
« on: May 31, 2011, 05:57:21 pm »
'Escape to the country' are filming the goats and I next week - eeeeek! they are helping a couple relocate to the worcestershire countryside and wanted to find someone who keeps goats and who makes money from goat products. One google search later they came up with little old me and my soap!
They are coming tuesday, yes I'm nervous - I wish I'd had a months notice to lose a bit of weight LOL. we will milk the goat and talk about goat keeping, country life and how to make soap  :)
Deep down I am more excited about the chance to help another couple enjoy the lovely life we now have than I am about plugging my soap business  :)
episode will be shown this autumn.

Wow! Good luck with the filming and the tidying. I'm nervous enough about local radio coming tomorrow to do a piece on our community farm.

oh I know little blue! all those mags, business went wild after them!! this one though, they contacted me out of the blue, such a shock and I said yes without even thinking. oops!!
sounds good benkt - radio is quite pleasant, I did quite a few radio interviews when I co-founded a postnatal group and its quite nice having a chat over the phone or to the person who comes out to you. I think I have a face for radio but not tv myself  ;) good luck for tomorrow!
I will do Jaykay - am ever so nervous and thinking this really warrants a new outfit really doesn't it? (don't tell tony i said that  anyone haha!!)

Def a new outfit, what better excuse? I was mid scrub (of the bathroom) when the photographer announced that he needed me for photos - aarrrgghhhh. Crap clothes, smelling of BO and bleach, no makeup, bed hair........ they could have warned me. I was not best pleased! Nice new wellies perhaps? Good luck, and let us all know when you're on!  :)

You must let us know when it's on! How exciting  :)

If it's a good interviewer, they'll make it a breeze for you. And it's not live, so if you fluff your lines, you can ahve another go  ;D

Ooh, how exciting for you!!

Our farm has been filmed twice for country type programmes.  On one of the programmes, they wanted me to walk a goat on a lead down in front of the farmhouse - not sure why, but had to keep doing the same thing over and over.  I was so worried that  the goat would tank off with me on the end of the rope, and it was pouring with rain too.  My poor uncle had to demonstate how to cut grass with a large sythe.

I was very surprised how many people they needed to film  all this .....and then when it was shown on the telly, if you blinked you would have missed us ;D

I bet they want you to look like a stereotypical goat keeper, maybe an Afghan coat, Welles, red trousers, long flowing hair and a beard, even though you are a women......I bet they ask you to wear a woolen jumper  ;)    I did a bit of film production work in my role as a youth worker, I was with a professional TV crew and really there to keep the teenagers in order but it was laborious, all things measured, times, light metered etc and as you said, filmed again and again and again until they get it right"""

They were hoping it would [tank off with you on the end of the rope], that's why they asked you to keep doing it!  ;)
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing
