Hi Karen
They are more than welcome to come and see us when they are down this way late summer. If the AI worked Meg will be farrowing around about then, which would be a bonus for them. We have a suckler herd and the Jersey house cow (nothing due to calve around that time, sadly for them), commercial meat sheep, native ponies (sadly underused), chickens & the pig. Might have some fantails by then. We are non-intensive, low input, traditional (old-fashioned) farmers. (In fact if we haven't got all the hay in and it's good weather they'll be drafted in to help us with the hay!) The farm over the road is an organic dairy farm, cafe & cheese-maker; I can put your vet friends in touch if they would be interested.
We had a vet student to help us one lambing - she had done as much lambing practice as she needed, and then some, but just loved it so did some every year. She worked very hard and taught us a lot.
Cheers
Sally
