I am starting a mini farm in Derbyshire and I am desperately seeking to reserve two ouessant ewe lambs which will be ready to be weaned around Easter.  Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction, an excellent home awaits.  Am also looking for 2 female pygmy kids (bi or tri coloured).

Many thanks

Hi

Even though I live in France, I do know of some Ouessants at Baylham house farm in Ipswich.
The chap I have had conversations with in the past has been very helpful, his name is Richard, will look up his number if you are interested.

Good luck, I keep these sheep and they are lovely.

Since most Ouessants will lamb around easter the likelihood of weaned lambs will be zero I am afraid!.........there are only around 200 Ouessants in Britain......however there are several of us who will have lambs later on. I will have castrated ram lambs for sale at around £40 - 50 each on weaning and ewe lambs possibly available but they will be considerably more!

Are you registered with your holding number etc?

Thanks guys for your help and advice.  I guess I will have to be patient and wait till early June for the arrival of weaned ouessant lambs.  I do have my holding number and possibly the loan of 2 tame suffolks to get me started and tie me over.  I am particularly after ewe lambs, as have hopes of breeding at a later stage.

Still on the quest for pygmy goats, latest prices have found at £220 (female) each, does that sound about right?

That sounds VERY expensive for a pygmy goat!!!!.........unless it has top class breeding!

Have you tried James Graham on the Isle of Man? http://grahamsminiatures.co.uk

One of my handspinning customers keeps Ouessants but I don't know if she ever sells any. I can always ask.

Good luck with your venture, what part of Derbyshire are you in?
