Today I had to have my trusty old Border Collie put to sleep after 15 1/2 years, what a grand old lady.
We originally purchased her on the English side of Hadrian's wall miles from nowhere on a working farm. It was a decision if she or her sister was to be kept for working, her sister was marginally better so we won Jaycee.
As we traveled home she ducked under every bridge on the way home, she was to keep our Cavalier king Charles spaniel company at the time she was the same size as him.
She has since seen him out, another border collie that had a heart condition and than two years ago her last companion.
She has been living with diabetes foe the last two years, not to see her though would you have known. Old age just caught her up in the last few days and it was a heart breaking decision this morning to have her put to sleep., I felt the most mean person in the world to do this to my companion, but it was for her, the time to go.
I'm going to have a glass of wine tonight to celebrate her life.
