Its surprising how many people go queasy at the sight of for example an animal (or a human for that matter!) giving birth, and if they heard the blood curdling screams that go with it, well ......

...yeah, like my husband!  though he coped well this time round with the goat kidding (I was at work!)

...  At the moment Countryfile is about all I bother with and even that appears to be going upmarket.

Yep I agree, thought it would have stayed more down-to-earth with the breakaway Country Tracks on in the morning too  ::)

A word with the BBC might help, a smallholding program would be great.

I put on another thread recently that there is a website - www.smallholdingseries.co.uk - its Adam Hanson doing things re smallholding - its a newish website - I think the intention is to develop it so watch this space!

Adam Henson can do no wrong in my eyes (well, not yet anyway  ;D).  He and his dad have done so much for rare breeds over the years - without Jo Henson I think we probably wouldn't have most of the rare breeds we have today.  And Adam always gets in a plug or two for rare breeds when he appears anywhere.  The photos of his varied tups being run down Oxford St (was it Oxford St? - I don't know much about London) were iconic.  Long may he prosper  8) :cow: :sheep: :horse: :goat: :pig:

I am getting "Sorry, the website www.smallholdingseries.co.uk cannot be found"
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
