broody hen

hi i bought a supposable broody brahama hen i have had her nearly a week have six eggs from my buff orpingtons i wont her to hatch for me in the nest box but she doest seem to wont to go broody any tips or advice on how to make her go broody cheers john

it's one of these things we have very little contol over. You could try leaving her a pot egg in her nest area, it may trigger her again o as the case may be, enjoy the eggsand wait for her to go of her own accord.

i thought this might be the case well there are 5 buff eggs in her nest ill just play the waiting game

Probably the move to a new owner has upset her a little - hopefully she will get over it quickly, and start clucking again.  You could send her here, because its broody paradise at the moment, and your girl could not fail but be broody about this lot!!  I have three banties sitting in one nest, 3 more in a nest each, one in the spare rabbit hutch, one in another small hutch. and two big hens have joined in now .......so it must be catching.
