Seems 4 of the hens are broody now!
« on: April 02, 2011, 12:04:53 pm »
I posted that I had 1 broody and she is still sitting after 16 days so may have chicks soon but 3 others are trying to get in on the act! I moved broody at first with eggs but she went straight back to her old spot so I put eggs back with her and left her to it. All seems ok but another girl has got in next to her and they seem to have decided to share the sitting. 2 others we've managed to discourage every day so far but they want to sit.
So I've bought a new coop.. Bought because Rob hasn't time to make one grieved me to do so!
Anyway question is do I move broodys in now or wait a few more days to see if any of the eggs hatch and move if do?
If it's not successful this time I'll wait till cast is off and do it 'properly'.
