duck with respiratory problems
« on: March 28, 2011, 06:35:39 pm »
one of my older girls is lying down for half the day, seems very weak and is breathing hard. After studying the literature I wonder if she may have a lung problem. Is there a chance she will recover from this untreated ? I don't want to put her down but antibiotics are not rated well on-line as it can have many causes...  :(:&>

That happened to my older girl, then I found her dead one morning with an egg half out.  She had had a heart attack while passing the egg.  Quite common I'm told - the strain involved and the lungs being weakened.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Doesn't sound hopeful, possibly an infection - if she doesn't pick up soon & she's struggling maybe it's time to do the final thing for her  :'(
